It is with great sadness, that committee announces the death of Bob Barker, who sadly passed away on the 12th November 2024.
Bob, was a founding member of the Friends of Luton Museums. He was on the original steering committee that was set up in 1986, to revive an earlier Friends museum group.
In the 38 years since the Friends of Luton Museums has existed, Bob was its staunches supporter. He held many committee positions: Including that of Chairman, for many years.
During his time with the Friends he oversaw many bequests to the museums. Perhaps his highlight was his involvement in helping the Friends raise over twenty thousand pounds towards the purchase of the Wenlok Jug, which was saved for the nation.
His funeral service takes place on the 10th December at the Luton vale Cemetery & Crematorium at 1pm.
